Devil’s Elbow Brewery – ALL the beers!

Tasting Paddle 1 – Devil’s Elbow Brewery
REVIEW:
So my epic visit to Devil’s Elbow Brewery started like all my visits to a new brewery… with a paddlin’!
The beer menus and descriptions made it super easy for me to work out what I wanted, and the stories about how each beer got its name were also very cool.
TASTING PADDLE 1:
My first tasting paddle consisted of these 4 beers:
Sandy Beach Belgian Blonde – Light spicy yeast aromas combine with lovely malt sweetness & a dry finish. Brewed with Pilsener malt, oats, wheat and a traditional ‘Belgian Abbey’ yeast.
Nun Launcher Pale Ale – A light thirst-quenching pale with a firm bitterness & aromas of citrus & tropical fruit.
Nosey Bob Red Ale – Caramel & light toffee malt flavours on the palate with lovely stone fruit aromas shining through to finish.
Flash Kate IPA – For those who love their beer with bite & hoppy flavours. A light copper coloured American version with a solid malt base allowing the resiny U.S. hops to shine through.
These menu descriptions were all really accurate and I really enjoyed each different beer. I have done a dedicated review of the Nun Launcher.
TASTING PADDLE 2:
With 4 more beers left to try, it would have been crazy of me not to have another paddlin’!
Dub Vegas Mid Strength Lager – This is our everyday lager and flagship beer. Brewed with pilsener and cara pils malts. Light on colour & flavour but big on drinkability.
Sundowner Belgian Wit – A refreshing Belgian style Wit (wheat) beer that uses special Belgian yeast, a large portion of wheat and oats for malts, Narrowmine orange peel & coriander seeds.

Tasting Paddle 2 – Devil’s Elbow Brewery
Small Arms German Style Lager – Traditional German hops with a light bready malt base & a clean crisp finish.
Black Horn Dark Ale – A light coffee, caramel & chocolate malt flavour that finishes smooth.
My two cents: The Dub Vegas is a tasty mid that also won’t scare away the Big Bru drinkers and will gently start them onto craft beer. The Belgian Wit and German Lager were so tasty, crisp and fresh. The Black ale was so damn drinkable.
The whole range at Devil’s Elbow is definitely worth a try and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every beer.
Watch out for my upcoming interviews with owner Brendon and head brewer Lachie. Also coming are my blogs about the brewery and the brew day I got to attend.
