Doppelbock – Burnley Brewing

Doppelbock – Burnley Brewing
REVIEW:
Fast approaching Christmas Day, and we are up to day #21 of the Beer Cartel Advent Calendar! Here we have a Doppelbock from Burnley Brewing.
What they say: Firm noble hop bitterness is balanced by rich roasty malt flavours and smooth alcohol warmth. In the German tradition, this strong dark lager has been brewed in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot (German purity law). Best enjoyed decanted into glass to enjoy the malt aromas in full and bring out the rich creamy head.
Pairs beautifully with dark chocolate and Christmas pudding.
What I say: I’m afraid this just isn’t my cup of tea. Super dark, super malty, bready and yeasty…with another flavor I can’t quite pick… but it’s not for me. At least mine wasn’t over carbonated like some people have been getting.
But what would I know? I’m just a guy that loves great beer 😊🍺
