DDH Hazy IPA – Bay Rd Brewing
REVIEW:
After work drinks on Friday afternoon at Bay Rd Brewing for the release of their new beer, a DDH Hazy IPA!! After all the incessant requests from customers, they have finally shown us all what they can do… and I’m bloody excited!!! The head brewer at Bay Rd is now Simon, formerly from Willie the Boatman. So this Hazy is sure to be a banger.
What they say: DDH Hazy IPA draws you in with a big hop aroma and entices you further with its light and hazy appearance. Double dry hopped with New World American hops, it packs a robust assortment of fruit flavours, from tropical mango and pineapple to tangy orange and citrus. A classic hazy IPA that finishes dry, it begs you to take another sip, and you can’t help but give in!
What I say: You know what? This is bloody amazing! Beer of the year so far for me! Will you just look at that magnificent bastard of a beer! It pours like the most beautiful glass of juice that you’ll ever see. The aroma is like all the best fruity hop aromas you can possibly hope for (and no bloody coconut! Apologies to the Sabro lovers). It slides softly into your mouth, ignites your tastebuds with mango, pineapple, orange citrus… its not too sweet or overly bitter and is just dry enough that you do indeed want another sip. Hats off to head brewer Simon and the crew at Bay Rd…. please never stop making this. Absolute banger, 5/5!
But what would I know? I’m just a guy that loves great beer 😊🍺
